Making Friends

Making Friends creates engaging educational apps that promote play for children with special needs and tools for care teams to simplify communication and adapt care.

Who We Are

We're a team of educators, engineers, artists, designers and parents who share a connection to the special needs community.

Many of us have family or have worked with individuals with developmental and learning differences. We're inspired by the strength of the community and the opportunity to impact lives in meaningful ways.

What We Do

We're on a mission to develop the next generation of applications that will inspire learners and help parents, teachers and therapists care for individuals with special needs.

Our Story

In 2013, three friends came together to develop a game for teaching social skills to children with autism. After months of research and hundreds of designs, our idea took shape and our team began to grow.

Making Friends Park, is the our first step towards teaching social skills and inspiring learners through interactive and engaging educational content. We've worked hand-in-hand with the community to address the needs of our users and look forward to sharing our game with you.

Through our ongoing dialogue with the community, we've learned more about the challenges associated with caring for individuals with special needs. Our Care Journal is our next step for helping care teams stay on the same page, so they can focus on providing the best care possible.

Our journey is just beginning and we hope you will join us!

Inclusion: We want all kids to be accepted and promote neuro-diversity by emphasizing the potential of individuals.

Community: We realize it takes a whole team working together to change lives, and we strive to engage, participate and collaborate within the special needs community.

Innovation: We believe technology is a tool, not a replacement for supporting learners and their care teams.

Transparency: Is not something we say, it's what we do. We are open and honest about our intentions and goals.
